"NENIKHKAMEN" (Nenikekamen = We have won)
.
During the last weekend (29~31) of October 2010, some Radio Amateurs from SV land, honour MILITADES, an Athenian General and his soldiers (11,000) , who beat the UNbeatable Persian Army of Darius I, in Marathon valey 2,500 years ago.
It is descriped by hystorians, as a "JUDGEMENT DAY" for the world, because then was the first time that a European Nation stopped an Eastern Empire conquest.
We will be QRV on HF bands in SSB, CW and DIGI modes, as base stations (SX2500M), and mobile station (SX2500M/m) running QRS for 42km and 195m (42.195km the Marathon Race) honouring Pheidippides, the inspiration of every Marathon runner.
